Class 2 biosafety cabinet

Class 2 biosafety cabinet (protection of product, operator and environment) or class 2 laminar flow hood is intended for:

• Physical isolation (confinement and controlled removal from the operating zone) of biological warfare agents and microorganisms in order to eliminate a possibility of airborne infection of the staff, as well as the contamination of the working premises and environment;
• Protection of active agent within the operating zone from outer and cross contamination.

It is used for primary protection of an operator when equipping some work places in virological and bacteriological laboratories, in medical, pharmaceutical and other institutions for the work with biological warfare agents and microorganisms.

Peculiarities of construction of the Kupertek Breva Class 2 biosafety cabinet

• slanted front panel improves ergonomics for an operator;
• protection glass is tempered, with gas shock absorbers;
• operating zone illumination (LED lamp, 6500К) is positioned so that it does not impede laminar flow and operator’s eyes;
• HEPA filter is protected with fine-meshed aluminum screen from accidental damages during cleaning;
• coarse purification of air – filter Ecopleat F7 (G4) – extends НЕРА filter protection period;
• purification of air entering the operating chamber – HEPA – filters H12 or H13 produced by«Selton»;
• in order to provide air flow, only the imported fans produced by Systemair are used, as they produce minimum noise;
• operating surface is made of polished food grade stainless steel and consists of 3 removable sections;
• all-metal housing with powder coating allows for simple sanitization and zero emission from the surface. Standard colour – RAL7035;
• cabinet’s control system makes it possible to adjust air flow rate in the operating chamber and to set the needed on/off switching time for UV irradiation of the operating chamber;
• bench support with adjustable rests and rollers;
• depth of a standard cabinet is designed so that the unit can fit a standard doorway (700mm) without the necessity to disassemble the cabinet (which can negatively affect the further efficiency of the cabinet). Standard width of the cabinet is 900mm and 1,200mm.

• power board installed on the back panel of the operating zone (total consumed power shall not exceed 800W);
• reduced depth of the cabinet (585 mm);
